Mask dance ritual at Tyangbuche & Chiwang Monasteries offers you one of the wonder of the Himalayan people and their believe and practice since their communal step to this heavenly region.
The festival originated from the monastery of Rongbuk, one of the oldest in Tibet, is a prayer ceremony where the monks put on masks representing divine personages and perform ritual dances. The spectators of devotion come from many villages of Khumbu area. It is a colourful occasion that takes place in the most spectacular of settings. It depicts the victory of Buddhism over the ancient 'Bon' religion. The festival lasts for three days and is well attended by the Sherpa people who often trek for many days to witness and to get blessed and to gain sonam (Merit) in this important event.
This festival consists of an 8 to nine day mediation cycle and ends with a public blessing ceremony. The following are the Mani Rimdu events that normally celebrate but the main public ceremony will be of 3 days.

13 Oct: | Preparations including making the sand Mandala and Tormas (symbolic offerings made of coloured butter and barley flour) |
15 Oct: | Drupchen ceremonies start and continue uninterrupted for 8 days. |
22 Oct | Monks practice dancing without masks |
23 Oct | Giving the blessing to the general public (Wang) |
24 Oct | Famous Mask Dances preformed by the monks in a special day long ceremony. Afterwards, the Sherpa community sing and dance the whole night long. |
25 Oct | Concluding Fire Puja(ritual). |

Day 01 | Your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport(TIA) and you will be meet our airport representative then transfer to hotel |
Day 02 | Kathmandu City tour inclusive of guide, entrance fee & private vehicles. |
Day 03 | Kathmandu (1315m) - Lukla (2840m), fly 30 mins, and trek to Phakding (2640m), 4 hrs |
Day 04 | Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3440m), 6 hrs |
Day 05 | Namche Bazaar - rest day for acclimatization |
Day 06 | Namche Bazaar - Tyangboche, (3860m), 5 hrs |
Day 07 | Tyangboche - Dingboche, (4350m), 6 hrs |
Day 08 | Dingboche –rest day for acclimatization |
Day 09 | Dingboche - Lobuche (4925m), 6 hrs |
Day 10 | Lobuche - Gorakshep (5170m) - Kalapatthar (5545m)-Gorakshep, 6 hrs |
Day 11 | Gorakshep - Everest base camp (5210m) - Gorakshep, 7 hrs |
Day 12 | Gorakshep - Pheriche (4280m), 6 hrs |
Day 13 | Pheriche - Tyangboche (3860m), 4 hrs |
Day 14 | Monks practice dancing without masks |
